From the Chair — NIU Foundation Board of Directors About a year ago during halftime of the Huskie/Akron game, I was asked to say a few words about the NIU Foundation on the Huskie radio network. Not being one to miss an opportunity to ask for support, I agreed. In the course of what turned out to be an interview, I was asked why I choose to be involved. At first, I was surprised at the question. Shouldn't it be obvious, I thought? Realizing that it apparently wasn't, I said, "Because Northern is my school." It really boils down to that. As an alumnus, I take great pride in my school, and it is my privilege and pleasure to be a part of the NIU Foundation as we set our sights on new and higher goals in support of Northern. I look forward to my continuing involvment with the NIU Foundation board and to working with you as we go forward together, building the future of NIU. Thank you for caring and thank you for giving.
